Ist barangay assembly
Monday, March 31, 2008
A memo was sent late Thursday afternoon from DILG (Dept. of Interior and Local Govt.) to inform me to set a Barangay Assembly the coming Saturday. Short notice isn't it? So I decided to move it for Sunday, March 30. The attendance wasn't that overwhelming maybe because of poor preparations and planning although the over all feedback came along in my favor. Accomplishments during the span of 4 months like: decorative lights, proper garbage disposal and clean surroundings, implementation of curfew hours, anti-rabies vaccine for pets and stray animals, preventive canal/stagnant water spraying against dengue, availability of cedulas, brgy. I.Ds, declogging, trimming of trees and bushes were laid down PLUS future projects were discussed by each Kagawad Committee Heads, suggestions and solutions to common issues and problems of the barangay and election of Human Rights Action Officers among our constituents.

I love pillows
Sunday, March 30, 2008
I have this special passion for pillows. Aside from several soft and cuddly ones that pile up our bed, you can find them at almost all the areas of our home. Our furniture in the living room are filled with intricately designed and embroidered throw pillows while a number of huge ones that matches the curtains in the audio visual room are scattered all over the flooring.

Online gaming
Thursday, March 27, 2008
Honestly speaking, gambling or playing online slots is against my Christian principles and upbringing. My parents brought me up in a family bonded in love, kindness and most of all fear of the Lord. I was encouraged to go to church and attend Sunday Services, Bible Studies and other activities that will nurture me to live a righteous life. As I grew older I became exposed to worldly things and earthly desires that somehow and sometimes made me drift back from the road which I was guided to follow. One of them is my liking to take chances especially with money. Though it didn’t become habitual, still I cannot resist the urge to play when the situation is at hand and I simply cannot defy the situation. I remember how I had a wonderful time hopping from one slot machine to another when we were in Las Vegas and Reno. But would you believe how lucky am I that I have never lost a big sum since I started to play?
True enough there are times when I’m tempted to play slots online but the angel in me tells me not. Well, great!

Do not challenge me!!!
Since the time we got back from a pleasurable vacation in Boracay there have been problems besetting my governance. Questions on money matters came in which I really hate! I will not elaborate this entry anymore but leave this message to all concerned. Remember, do not challenge me! I can be your sweetest angel BUT if provoked, I can be an evil villainess, a witch and a devouring monster!

Finding the best web host
Wednesday, March 26, 2008
Finding the best web hosting service for your web site can really be a tough decision especially if you do not know what you are looking for. First of all you have to set your priorities when choosing your web host. Is the price your number one consideration? I bet it would be but you also have to consider the downside of opting for cheap affordable web hosting providers. You also have to check out whether the features you like are being offered in the package. Do they have enough disk space and a huge traffic allowance? Are they reliable and will not be down too often? Do they have a backup network as this would cause much stress and eventually affect your work schedule?
I suggest you check out kaushalsheth.com that to guide you in choosing not only the best web hosting but finding a wide selection of blogger templates and awesome wordpress themes you will surely love.

More trips to go
Monday, March 24, 2008
After an enjoyable vacation in Boracay, we are once again set to go on a camping trip to Bataan with our church family next month and I think there are still more upcoming outings along the way until summer is over. Well, after all that is what summer is all about. In preparation, I still have to shop for
camping gear to make sure outdoor activities will be fun especially for the kids.

Easter activities
The Easter egg-hunting activity at our Barangay was initiated by our SK Chairman Benjo and his council. Registration started at 7a.m. for children residents from 6-12 years old. The kids had fun despite the meager prizes given out and the activity didn’t last long since they were all keen to find all the Easter eggs hidden along the stretch of Lamayan Street. Just before noon I had some trees and bushes trimmed for a more cleaner surrounding.

The street lights
Sunday, March 23, 2008
The outdoor lighting of the street posts in the vicinity of our barangay gained much positive impact not only among my constituents but residents of neighboring barangays as well. The bright lights enhanced by the multi-colored tiny bulbs got much praises from passers-by even referring to our street as the bay walk of Sta. Ana derived from the one in Roxas Boulevard. Hearing wonderful comments just as this makes the Chairman’s heart leap with joy.
Good Friday Church Service
Saturday, March 22, 2008
I was blessed to attend the 3pm Good Friday Service with my IBCM CHURCH family. A Lord’s Supper Memoriam by most of our Deacons and Baptist men was well prepared, organized and a scriptural narrative of the 7 last words was reflective of the Lord’s sufferings at the cross for us. The congregation also partook of the Lord's Supper feast.

Comfort at its best
Monday, March 17, 2008
It is nice to have found a good place to stay in Boracay even though the season is at its peak. I love the rooms here at *Hey Jude* specially the colors of their
comforter sets in both the double beds we (Rey and I) are sharing with my youngest daughter Queenie and grandkids Kisses and Keren. Aside from its being just a 3 minute walk away to the long beach, the hotel is also accessible as it is near the noted "The Mall" wherein you can find all the shops for novelty items, a mini market, supermart, a beauty salon, eateries and all.

Boracay get-away with the family
I need a lot of catching up to do since I have not updated my sites for a week now using our connection. I have to go to the nearby internet shop to finish my campaign ads for payu2blog and sometimes make use of a dial-up connection (too slow!) at night to check my mails and visit some sites. I hope my connection will be okay as we get back on Wednesday (hubby Rey's birthday) night to be able to post a lot of pending entries done last week.
As of this writing, I'm here at an internet shop in Boracay viewing our photos but as much as I love to post them now they are too huge and an editing tool is not available in their programs.

They say it's the finest
Tuesday, March 11, 2008
The first time I heard about this brand of watch Patek Philippe was from my husband when we were talking about expensive watches. He said that it was the kind our country's late and long time ruler used to wear. True to his words I have known from this site that it is regarded by many as the finest watch in the world. How I wish then that I can own a Sporty Classic Stainless Steel
Patek Aquanaut Luce with Diamond Bezels.

KAPITAN Punta-Sta.Ana
Launching and Induction of Officers
Only days after we were informed by a staff of Cong. Benny Abante to set the formal Induction of Officers of KAPITAN, an association composed of 33 Barangay Chairmen comprising the Barangays of Punta and Sta. Ana which he will sponsor via a dinner at the Max's Restaurant, Sta. Ana finally happened last Wednesday, March 5. Preparations (by us Officers, I'm the Asso.'s Secretary ) for this event was done just the night before the actual affair at my very own Barangay.
Though the preparation was too short, the affair can be judged organized. I took care of the registration of the attndees, volunteered to say the opening prayer and was then surprised when they asked me to lead the singing of the Pambansang Awit during the actual event which was supposed to be led by another. A very informative power point was presented by our President Chairman Edwin Damay showing a rundown of KAPITAN's objectives and visions. The oath taking and prayer was led by Cong. Abante. Thanks for his support.

Barangay Budget is on it's way!
Friday, March 7, 2008
This past week started out just fine with another first hand experience by yours truly the Chairman. I had this chance of witnessing a session at the Session Hall of the Manila City Hall with Vice Mayor Isko Moreno as the Presiding Officer with Manila Councilors in attendance. One of the agendas taken up for approval was our Brgy. annual budget wherein the Chairman is required to attend likewise with the other Chairmen also awaiting theirs. They term this procedure as "pukpok" meaning "pag pinukpok na ang budget approved na and ready for processing."

Express license renewal
Saturday, March 1, 2008
My firearm license expired last November but intentionally thought of not renewing it prior to its expiry date because everyone said that if you are an elected official the fees is discounted by 20%. When I won the electoral race for Chairmanship I am now considered one and can very much avail of the lower rates of fees.
Every time I have any documents renewed I don*t personally go to any of the agency concerned instead have our liaison officer or someone fix them for me.
Yesterday I thought of going with my staffs to FEO at Camp Crame to have the bulk of our Agency firearms (436) renewed but with the real intention of dropping by Greenhills Mall to find some things to buy. While waiting, I went to one open counter (Express Lane) just inquire about renewing my firearm license and ask for an application form since I forgot some documents like my Neuro-Psychiatric Exam and my Drug Test. I was surprised when the lady just asked for my expired license, had it verified and asked me to fill up an application form and 1 2x2 photo. Done with the form she told me to pay for a notarial fee of Php100. and Php 870. at the other counter (Landbank). As soon as I*ve paid, the teller told me to present the receipts at the next counter to have my picture taken for the new I.D. license card. So I did! After a while my name was called and had my renewed firearm licensed card. The whole process took about half an hour. Express talaga!
