I'm Back!

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Yeah I'm back from Cebu and an unexpected side trip to Bohol! I had a wonderful and enjoyable time with my brother Mer who's based in Lahug, Cebu City and who took time off from his naval duties to be my guide and traveling companion. From the airport at around 10:30 a.m. we headed to CNT for a taste of the famous yummy Cebu Lechon. We then proceeded to his home because of a much needed sleep and rest. I only had two hours sleep the previous night because of a busted airconditing unit in our room. I just had a short nap and decided to shop for pasalubongs like dangit, dried pusit, longganisa etc. at Taboan Market then dropped by Rustan's Supermarket to shop for some toiletries and had dinner at Max's Restaurant.

Sunday Volunteers

Monday, August 25, 2008

It was mine and our Treasurer Belle's turn to render peace keeping job yesterday, Sunday from 12midnight to 4am of the following day. However, 3 other Council Members - Boy, Lulu and May (Kagawads) joined us plus 3 other SK or youth Council members - Ayin, Mark, Baldo and my scholar and alaga Norbhie. Upon assumption of duty, we decided to have a round of snack at a Lugawan in the nearby Plaza. But at past 2am when we were about to go on rounds, rain suddenly poured so we were just confined within our Barangay Hall till we finally decided to go home 30 minutes earlier leaving behind Kagawad Boy and 2 other volunteer Tanods.

Household Chores Meme

Sunday, August 24, 2008

Thanks HiPnCooLMoMMa for never missing my site/s for much needed tags=)

According to the rules, I am to list down the household chores I hate and why I hate them. Then copy the image provided and tag as many people as you want. Add your blogs link to the domesticated divas linky love and leave a comment at Stripe & Yellow to be added to the master list.

My most hated household chores are:

1. Ironing clothes - I can’t stand the heat even when I was younger and the weight of the flat iron itself.

2. Cooking - I would love to but I wasn’t given enough training since my mom knows I have sensitive skin which started back when I was in high school. I also do not like the flying talsik of the mantika. You would tell me I’m so O.A. when you see me using the kawali cover to shield myself specially my face and with the frying sanse on the other hand while frying..

3. Anything involving garbage disposal.

4. Cleaning the toilet bowl.

5. Baby sitting.

Thanks for household helpers who makes my life convenient and comfortable.

Looking forward

I intend to start packing up my things for Tuesday’s flight for Cebu to attend an annual security convention on the 27th and 28th at what my brother describes as the controversial Cebu International Convention Center. Aside from the usual conference attires, I have included my favorite swimsuit in my luggage. Who knows I may have the chance to go for a relaxing swim in one Cebu’s noted beaches. I really wish I can find time to visit Plantation Bay Area.

Cebu and Palawan

Got up late last Saturday so I have to rush to PAL's ticketing office to catch up before they close at 12:00 p.m.. I have to claim my confirmed and discounted ticket rate for a flight to Cebu on the 26th to attend an annual security seminar in behalf of our firm on the 27th and 28th at the Cebu International Convention Center.

Another one coming up is a Barangay (Environmental) Seminar along with my fellow Manila Chairmen on October 9-11 at Puerto Princesa, Palawan. I have confirmed my attendance and I'm glad it will be in Palawan instead of Davao or Camiguin.

Seems like I'll be missing my pattern of at least one international trip a year. Well, I still dunno what November and December have in store. Parang another Baguio Convention again?

An upcoming event

It’s barely two months before the Barangay’s much awaited Halloween trick or treat event. Together with my Council members, we have agreed to begin with the preparations early next month by starting out with the drafting of the Halloween invitations. Children in our neighborhood along with their parents are looking forward to this merry affair. Everyone is excited to watch the kids and participating adults parade ours and the neighboring streets not just in scary but various and colorful costumes as well.

Liwaliw (to roam leisurely)

"Huli man daw at magaling, huli pa rin."

I was quite late posting this entry because I was preoccuppied with so many things the past days so here are the photos of our EB last Saturday, August 9, while leisurely roaming around Philippine historical places of Intramuros and the Luneta Park where the Monument of our National hero stands.

Monday, August 11, 2008

Personally speaking, special affairs and events need not to be taken for granted. On every events be it family functions or political affairs I see to it that I and each of my immediate family members have special occasion dresses suited to the affair. This early, I have been preparing for my daughter’s choices of prom dresses and prom shoes. While browsing through the internet, I found an online site that caters to women’s clothing and special occasion dresses with focal points on designer dresses; prom dresses designer shoes and accessories. If you have are in need of special dresses for any affairs and things that goes with these outfits, you can check out rissyroos.com which I bet can very well answer your requirements.

Directions made easy

Sunday, August 10, 2008

She’s now using Garmin GPS and having a great time driving around. I’m talking of my childhood best friend now based in San Francisco. When I came to visit her couple of years ago, I remember we always get lost because she was poor in directions. We were reminiscing those days while talking over the phone yesterday and proudly telling me that with the GPS we will get to enjoy roaming around any part of the state and even further around when I come back without getting lost.

Mega Sale everywhere

I have been trying my very best to shun myself from mall visits lately which has been continuously draining my pockets. Why? It’s because I cannot resist from enticing sale items in every corner and end up picking up stuffs that I really don’t need. Eventually, things shopped for will just go to my cabinet or storeroom and in the long run be forgotten. What a waste!

South Beach, it's working!

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

It has been exactly a week since hubs started his South Beach diet delivered daily by "my dietbuddy" and it's working wonders. He has gradually lost weight by an average of 2 1/2 pounds a day. His weight dropped from 228 pounds down to 210 pounds today. Though his bulging belly is still noticeable (but it has been softer than the usual) we are hoping that it will trim down in another week. The course runs in two weeks with a fee of Php13,500.00. We're glad that he's cooperative knowing that it's too hard for a certified eater with a tremendous appetite and love for food to go on such a dilemma. I wonder if the attitude remains the same if we push him for another two weeks.

All about shoes

Photobucket

I didn't find the perfect pair of shoes to match my outfit for this Friday's affair. I almost found one by Enzo Angiolini one with closest color but thought the price is too much for something you'll wear just once or maybe twice. Another problem is my extremely small sized feet of 4 & 1/2 (34 !/2) though a size 5 with corks may do. I may settle for a beige to match my lacey cocktail dress. I'll continue scouting for one today right after we fix the bonding of my new barangay treasurer.

Speaking of shoes, here's a tag from Jean. Thanks!

{Start Copy}

What's your shoe size? Are your feet the same size as your mom's feet? How about your sister's feet? Can you borrow shoes from each other? Post a picture of your latest shoe buy. Tag the number of women of your shoe size, i.e. size 5 = tag 5 friends. Don't forget to drop a line in this blog when you're done. :)

Too much expectation

The laptop I was expecting to have last month did not materialize for reasons beyond my control. To be honest, I felt sad and depressed on the first three days when I knew about it then. It’s like my 100% hopes turned to “0” as in zero. I should not have hoped so much until I got it right before my eyes and in my hands. Oh well, I’m not blaming anybody here. I think I really need to save for it rather than rely on other’s generosity.
