Brgy. 885's Halloween Trick or Treat

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Quite late but I can't help posting these photos of how successful the event was. The call time was scheduled at 4:00 pm. I came out a bit irritated since only a few came in but when he boom boom started beating their drums on, children from all over the place started to come in different costumes. I was rattled in surprise because about almost a hundred kids joined in the fun parading with their parents, yayas and everyone gathered infront of their houses to see them.I and my council only prepared 100 packed snacks which were not enough to feed the adults. Candies were overflowing to delight of the kids plus lots of cash prizes courtesy of my family were also doled out to winners of different categories. It was so fun then!

Missed entries to follow

There are too many entries to be posted but had too little time to do so. I’ve missed posting important Barangay events such as the successful Halloween Trick or Treat and three successive feedings coupled with some other activities. A lot of justifiable reasons (some not though) like unending meetings – Barangay, Company/Business, Socials, substituting for a friend back in the States for a humanitarian cause, too tired and/or lazy at times, not enough ad offers, etc. etc. I think I need to jot down my daily activities in a planner so as not to forget and slip them out of my mind completely. Waaaaahhhh……. Am I just so preoccupied or just simply ageing? Anyways, have to post missed events, better late than never. After all, those are fun filled moments worth remembering. Pero bukas nalang ulit. Good night!

Get rid of the big "C"

Monday, November 10, 2008

The big "C" is fast becoming a dreaded disease nowadays and one of the most common of them is colon cancer. Some preventive measures to avoid such is proper food intake, immediate check-up when symptoms occurring in the abdominal areas arises though sometimes such manifestations doesn’t come up. For those with family history of the ailment, I suggest you go on a regular check up and a colon cleanse to flush out body toxins and purify your system.

Our (Queenie and mine) birthday celebration

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who dropped by to greet me, those who sent SMS messages (I think I received almost a hundred) and those who left their marks and lovely comments at my Friendster, Multiply and Facebook accounts and those who sent gifts and tokens. You all brightened and made my day. Thank you so much!

It was just a simple family celebration with our office staff singing along till 4:00 a.m. the next day but not for the other celebrant Queenie who has to attend her classes the next day. Before the videoke party, I spent half of the day attending to barangay paper works and had to drop by the Manila City Hall with our Brgy. Treasurer to follow-up funds to be released for some projects. As I got home in the afternoon, hubs and I had dinner at Milky Way (Power Plant) and bought stuffs and drinks for the night.

Flowers from Rey's cuz, Thess; cake roll from a constituent; my favorite white icinged cake from Councilor Joey Uy and a special chocolate cake from Congressman Abante. Thanks! thanks!

A Birthday Prayer

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

Almighty God and Heavenly Father

I thank you for another year you've given me

Not only for the countless blessings

But also for all the trials and pain during the past

that had shaped, molded and made me stronger

to become a better person right now.

I'm also asking for forgiveness

in all the wrong doings, flaws and sin

I've committed against You and everyone else.

If I have not been the best of what others

expect me to be, help me Lord.

I pray you'll continue to guide and bless me in

the coming years, good health, patience,

understanding and long loving years to be of service

to YOU, my family as well as my fellowmen.

This I pray in Your Mightly and Loving name Lord,

AMEN.
