The very first Starbucks is right here!

THE ORIGINAL STARBUCKS
Starbucks opened its first store in 1971 in the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. Because the Market is a historic district with design guidelines, the store retains its original look. The location that I was most excited about while vacationing in Seattle was the very first Starbucks store at Pike Place Market. As everyone knows, our family back in Manila are all Starbucks fan although the hubs prefers ???! Starbucks at the Power plant by day (Rockwell) and at Jupiter St. by the wee hours are considered our melting pots. Aside from the Space Needle and the location shootings of the movie Sleepless in Seattle, there was absolutely no way I was leaving the State without seeing the very first Starbucks store in person. It really indeed was a very special treat for me as I had always promised myself that one day when get to Seattle I would definitely visit the store that started it all.

Authentic Christmas trees
Monday, October 19, 2009

Oh my! How time flies so quickly that you’ll not even notice that Christmas Season is fast approaching. While our living room is still undergoing renovation, I’ve asked my household helpers to check and clean our Christmas decors and saw that our trees are kind of old already and I’m now thinking of purchasing
artificial christmas trees that would look really like real ones. I’m now looking around for these kinds of stuffs and would start decorating right after Halloween.

An upcoming event
Monday, August 18, 2008
It’s barely two months before the Barangay’s much awaited Halloween trick or treat event. Together with my Council members, we have agreed to begin with the preparations early next month by starting out with the drafting of the Halloween invitations. Children in our neighborhood along with their parents are looking forward to this merry affair. Everyone is excited to watch the kids and participating adults parade ours and the neighboring streets not just in scary but various and colorful costumes as well.

Find the best swimwear
Tuesday, June 3, 2008
Summer is the best time of the year when you can flaunt on the beach clad in your favorite
swimwear. Since we had a wonderful time in the scenic Boracay a few months back, the family has plans of spending the rest of the holidays this time in the lovely beaches of Bohol. Preparations specially for us ladies – my daughters and nieces includes the hunt for
women’s swimwear which is taking us quite a while since each of us has special factors and personal preferences for our choices. One wants a two-piece bikini while another prefers a tank top. I want a floral printed one but my other daughter loves plain and simple ones. But one thing I’m sure with is that both my nieces Jacy and Carmen who are considered heavy built will be happy with the site I found which offers plus size swim wears referred to as
christina swim suits. At swimsuitsforall.com every one of us can find a wide selection of swimwear that would cater to our taste in all sizes, styles and color of our choice. Problem solved! I’m glad I found this site. Check this out now and see for yourself the best swimsuits you will ever find.

A day at the county
Monday, June 2, 2008

Sunday was spent with hubby Rey and 2 of our staffs at Cabiao, Nueva Ecija to atttend the wake of his townmate and an old-timer guard who succumbed to heart attack. We arrived in time for lunch at his Uncle's home (top photo) just beside the family's common home built(by my mother-in-law) for anyone of her children who comes by to stay. Unfortunately, we didn't even bothered to go up (hehe, we forgot) since nobody stays there but our Uncle's maid who comes to clean it regularly. The first floor is being rented out.We had an early dinner at our driver's home wherein hubby's favorite dish of native sinampalukang manok, was served. While Rey was enjoying the meal I was also delighted in taking photos of the surrounding site.

We then proceeded to Uncle’s farm lot at San Carlos before heading back to Manila. While on the road, I told Rey how I felt refreshed seeing (once in a while) another environmental setting away from the usual daily surroundings.

More trips to go
Monday, March 24, 2008
After an enjoyable vacation in Boracay, we are once again set to go on a camping trip to Bataan with our church family next month and I think there are still more upcoming outings along the way until summer is over. Well, after all that is what summer is all about. In preparation, I still have to shop for
camping gear to make sure outdoor activities will be fun especially for the kids.

Christmas is in the air at Brgy.885
Monday, November 19, 2007

As early as last Friday, November 16, I initiated the Christmas decoration and the lighting up of our street posts even if the assumption of my Chairmanship is still on the 1st of December. Alternate red and white lanterns plus multi-colored rope lights and the first 4 posts which was unlit for a couple of years were now restored. A resident electrician and tambays volunteered to help just for snacks and a little tip. Though the expenses were shouldered by our family and yours truly, my heart leaps to hear nice comments from the residents like "wow! after several years, nabuhay na naman barangay natin!", "ganda naman! ang liwanag na satin!" and "yaman ng chairman!", hahaha kakatuwa naman pero bawas ang pambili ko ng (?) waaaaah!
Sorry for the dark pics, my camera wasn't set to night mode.

Our Christmas Trees
Thursday, November 15, 2007
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go…….

I’ve started to set up our trees last Saturday for the ground floor and the other at the 3rd floor. Trimmings are not yet complete though I’m just wondering why do I have to add up and buy just about every year? Oh well, that’s always the case.

A Sexy Halloween
Saturday, September 8, 2007
How fast the days go by and before you know it’s already Halloween, and then comes Christmas and another year to come and go. Gosh, how time flies!
With Halloween just around the corner, it’s good I already have an idea from one internet site on what
Halloween Costume my young lady Queenie and grandaughters will wear for their class party. But who say’s Halloween parties are just for kids or young people around? Of course not!
My friends and I have organized a Halloween party exclusively for females. Why? It’s because we all agreed to come in
Naughty Halloween Costumes and
Sexy Halloween Costumes . We will hold the party in one of my pal’s condo suite somewhere in Ayala, Alabang and that’s definitely exciting to look forward to. Our group often meets for plain girl talks, sharing what’s new with us over coffee or tea, plain dinner or lunch which became kind of boring at times so this different menu was conceptualized.
It’s good I already found something to wear for this affair, a bit sexy but not slutty. When choosing adult costumes, you want the best possible look possible without showing too much. I’m still having double thoughts which of these two
Adult Sexy Halloween Costumes to choose from. What do you think?

Thanks to this site! They offer a huge selection of Naughty Adult Costumes to insure you look and feel sexy. They are the largest Adult Party and Halloween Costumes Shop and all their costume selections come in DISCOUNTED prices.
Go grab a sexy costume and Have a Naughty Halloween!

One stormy day
Wednesday, August 8, 2007
The Northern part of the Philippines including Manila has been experiencing drought the past weeks. Everybody have been praying for rainfall and it has been continously since Sunday but today I was surprised to wake up seeing the kids still asleep. Classes in Elementary and High School were suspended because of typhoon Dodong. I found it sooooo relaxing, I had all the day off in front of this PC.
'Dodong' becomes a storm; signal no. 2 over Batanes

a Good Friday tradition
Sunday, April 8, 2007
We have set this as an annual tradition, meeting for coffee on a Good Friday and this is our 2nd year. This started a year ago when out of the blue and out of boredom
cuz girlie and I of course with our *hubs* decided to meet for coffee though we all knew that most establishments are close. So, we met somewhere in Greenhills, convoyed all the way to Ortigas (McDo was open but...) drove around to find a cozy coffeeshop or diner until we reached and found Starbucks almost at the corner of Ayala and Buendia at the People Support System. So there!
