My Love
by Jessica McDowell
You’re no longer thin,
Your hair is more grey than not,
You’re more forgetful than yesterday,
You’re more tired than energetic,
You’re more than I could ever have hoped
to have as a partner in life.
And you still have my love and devotion
From now until eternity ends.

My continuous wishes... A happy family, great friends and of course stronger faith in the Lord!
Thanking the good Lord for all the great things in life, may this day and all the coming years bring an extra share of all that makes me happiest. May you mature under the guidance of the Lord. I love you my precious one!

A wedding in October
Tuesday, June 1, 2010

My niece Jacky is set to wed in October of this year to long time beau Randell Garcia. We were teasing about us switching family names. She will be Jaqueline Vergara Garcia in a few months time while I became Marina Garcia Vergara 30 years ago. Aside from the venue they had confirmed and reserved, a "reserve the date card" which served as wedding announcement were sent in advance to notify the wedding sponsors and bridal entourage until the final wedding invitations will be out for distribution based on their guests list. Rey and I were blessed to be chosen as Principal Sponsors. They said it will be just a simple Christian wedding. This early I can see an orderly yet a memorable wedding made in heaven.

Matching gazebos
Tuesday, June 9, 2009
Together with our official caterer, we are scheduled to visit the venue this Thursday for this coming affair on July 5th which will be at the Corithian Garden Clubhouse. Since the motiff will be some sort of a Filipiniana set in the 50’s era, I will suggest they put up gazebos similar to our native nipa huts. Native delicacies and can be placed here and will be served by staffs in Filipino attires (kimona and patadyong; floral polo and colored pants). It’s kinda exciting!

Here are some pictures of Rey's birthday celebration last Saturday graced by special friends, relatives and friends in the industry as well. The "Poker Addict" who plays poker via Facebook (only) until the wee hours of the morning was so appreciative of the cake given by Rhea, Queenie and the kids. Thanks to the wonderful people who came and shared with us and made this occassion a truly memorable one.

Our (Queenie and mine) birthday celebration
Wednesday, November 5, 2008
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who dropped by to greet me, those who sent SMS messages (I think I received almost a hundred) and those who left their marks and lovely comments at my Friendster, Multiply and Facebook accounts and those who sent gifts and tokens. You all brightened and made my day. Thank you so much!
It was just a simple family celebration with our office staff singing along till 4:00 a.m. the next day but not for the other celebrant Queenie who has to attend her classes the next day. Before the videoke party, I spent half of the day attending to barangay paper works and had to drop by the Manila City Hall with our Brgy. Treasurer to follow-up funds to be released for some projects. As I got home in the afternoon, hubs and I had dinner at Milky Way (Power Plant) and bought stuffs and drinks for the night.
Flowers from Rey's cuz, Thess; cake roll from a constituent; my favorite white icinged cake from Councilor Joey Uy and a special chocolate cake from Congressman Abante. Thanks! thanks!
New drapes courtesy of my mother-in-law and a some cash (whew!, thanks!)

28th and still going strong!!!
Monday, December 3, 2007
The week-end was so busy with personal and barangay duties so it's only now that I got the chance to post this belated wedding anniversary treat last Saturday, December 1st. Here are a few photos taken at cool and breezy Tagaytay. We had lunch at Leslie's overlooking Taal Lake with the whole family and three of our angels, the kids went horseback riding at the Viewsite, passed by Sta. Rosa to visit Rey's cousins, passed by Starbucks and met other family members (Rey's side) at Glorietta for dinner and watched a nephew's (Ryan) photo exhibit for Mac.

Happy Birthday Keren!!!
Friday, August 24, 2007
August 23, Thursday
Our youngest grandkid Keren turned 8 today and I'm proud to tell you that she's already in Grade 4 at O.B. Montessori Center. After her preparatory year in a nearby Methodist School we decided to transfer her in a Baptist International School in Makati for Kindergarten but since she got a high mark in the entrance exams we decided to enroll her as First Grade much to the discouragement of the Administration because she was only about 4 that time. Anyways she coped up even landing in the top 10 of her class. Towards the end of her 2nd Grade we applied her at O.B. Montessori wanting much to transfer her and elder sister Nadine because it's a lot nearer to our home but she wasn't accepted and they want to demote her if we insist to enroll her. No way! We transferred them in a Catholic School nearby, my Alma Mater and on her 1st day of school as Grade 3, her classmates bullied her and tells her to go down to the Grade I classroom because it's where she belongs. Well then, she finished Grade 3 on above average rating. On our second attempt, O.B. Montessori finally accepted as Grade 4 because again she got a high score in the entrance exams. So there she is. Her teachers call her "baby".
As promised by Dadu Rey, we treated her for toy shopping at Toy kingdom - Podium.

Surprise......
Saturday, August 11, 2007
A surprise baby shower and birthday party was tendered to few close friends for Edna's eldest daughter Nian (fondly called Chiclet) who had her birthday yesterday and expecting a baby boy by CS on the 10th of next month. I came with my daughter Rhea, Chiclet's friend.
Lights were off. When she came in she was really shocked, happy and emotional when everyone greeted her warmly popping up confettis to her delight.

There were parlor games, food and drinks were abundant.
The cakes.... I love that LV inspired one!
