Invites here and there

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

I have a number of social invitations this month for different events like weddings, birthdays, and house blessings and to sit among major judges in competitions. I’m excited about the later when I will be among the priviledged ones to choose in the District wide Mr. and Ms. Little United Nations whose contestants are winners from their respective Day Care Centers from different Barangays in District 6. I’m even thinking of coming in Chinese costume but on second thoughts asking myself I might look over acting. What do you think?

Invites here and there

Saturday, July 9, 2011

Invitations keep pouring in! I just cannot give in to all of them. Socials and civic functions, birthdays, weddings and even advance graduation invitations are already at hand. There are several times when I just cannot attend all the invites from personal friends because of official mandatory functions and activities from the City Government that you cannot refuse since they are all part of my job as Barangay Official or Community Head.

Ready for special occasions

Sunday, February 6, 2011

I had the chance to get a good connection with one of the famous couturiers in the country today and was able to fit several of his gowns and formal dresses which were offered to me at discounted prices. It was my long time wish to have even just one gown made by this designer. I would really love to store special occasion dresses since I always attend special functions and social gatherings in lieu of my present position. If I have them on hand, I will always be prepared and not cram for something to wear in cases of short term invites.

National, Official and Non-working Holidays Philippines 2010
National, Official and Non-working Holidays in the Philippines 2010
In general, providing a fixed list of holiday dates is difficult because most of the 2010 regular holidays and nationwide special holidays in the Philippines are movable, as provided under Republic Act 9492 (an Act rationalizing the celebration of national holidays). For these movable holidays, the President is tasked by law to issue a Proclamation, at least 6 months prior to a movable holiday, fixing the specific date of that non-working day.

Welcome 2010 !!!

Year 2009 went by in a blink of an eye, oh how fast! I can't say I didn't do much last year because there were much improvements done in the Barangay but oh it's really difficult to balance everything that some aspects in my life have suffered. I'm just hoping to start the year right and do whatever I think is best for me and everyone else (how broad!). I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and be careful of what comes out of my mouth - "less talk less sin".
I’m not going to make a list of resolutions this year, instead give everything my best shot!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!

Brgy. 885's Trick or Treat 2009

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

The day before the scheduled Trick or Treat was stormy bought about by super typhoon Santi. Classes were suspended in all levels because Manila was placed under storm signal no. 3. I remember hearing roofs clicking and banging at 3:00 a.m. during the height of the storm due to strongwinds but with less rainfall.

The following morning was still gloomy. Hopeful kids kept coming back and forth to ask if the event will push through. We were blessed (not lucky cause I don't believe in luck) with an almost fine weather that our Halloween 2009 proved to be a success once again with attendance that surpassed last year's affair.

Authentic Christmas trees

Monday, October 19, 2009

Photobucket
Oh my! How time flies so quickly that you’ll not even notice that Christmas Season is fast approaching. While our living room is still undergoing renovation, I’ve asked my household helpers to check and clean our Christmas decors and saw that our trees are kind of old already and I’m now thinking of purchasing artificial christmas trees that would look really like real ones. I’m now looking around for these kinds of stuffs and would start decorating right after Halloween.

Not too busy

Saturday, June 20, 2009

After busy schedules the past days in preparation for my MIL's coming birthday, I was in a relax mode today and had all the time to visit my farms, pets and restaurants - I'm referring here to Facebook games where I'm addicted to.Late in the afternoon, I got the chance mingling with fellow lady Chairmen from Pandacan and Sta. Ana in one of my neighboring Chairman's birthday none other than former classmate Chairman Myrna Del Prado (the one standing with me in purple vest) of Barangay 887.

Lenten Season Highlights and Traditions

Maundy Thursday
Photobucket

A "Pabasa" or Chanting of the Passion of Christ was held within our Barangay which is a yearly "Panata" or tradition of the family of one of our Brgy. Council Member, Jonas Go. The Pabasa was supported by us Council Members through some PERSONAL contributions and solicitations from generous kabarangays.

Good Friday

A group from a certain company in Sta. Ana sponsored an annual "Senakulo" or a play also featuring the Passion of Christ wherein they toured all the 19 barangays of Sta. Ana which highlighted the Crucifixion of Christ in the Town Plaza. They startedthe first scene in our barangay and depicted a total of 4 scenes here.

The Penitence

While about to shoot the first scene of the senakulo, I spotted this passing by and doing his thing right in front of the mini ggrotto beside our home. I was told this man is one of the pedicab drivers in my barangay who does this yearly after he was released from jail. Öh my! I had no idea but I'll check that out this Monday coz I was kinda intrigued to know.

Annual Good Friday Coffee Tradition with Cuz

On with the Good Friday tradition with cuz and looking forward to more of these.

Happy birthday friend!

Thursday, March 12, 2009

I met Tonyboy and Anna Aquino in the middle of last year at the church we previously attend. They were newbie members then. Because we both belong in the political and community service - he being a former Congressman of Tarlac from the famous and well respected Aquino clan whose father is the older brother of Ninoy Aquino, we shared the same interests. We became much closer then when we both transferred to our new church, The Next Generation International Christian Church where we work in the Outreach Ministry dedicated to serving and discipling less fortunate fellowmen in different communities sharing our blessings through feedings and gift giving and most of all sharing the word of God.

Last Friday, his wife Anna hosted a surprise birthday party for the Golden Boy held at the 34th floor of the Petron Mega Towers in Makati City with our church family and close friends from the political and military world. It was a night of fun music and brotherhood.

Here’s wishing you strenght, good health and continuous faith and service to the Lord.
