A Present

Thursday, August 23, 2012

I'm looking for an anniversary present. I am running out of ideas anymore. I think I've given all sorts of gifts already but this time I'm thinking of something really special. I've been looking around in the mens diamond rings section and I think I found the perfect gift. I wish I can save enough money to purchase it, if not I can always give it on the next anniversary. Hhhmm would it be wonderful when someone gives you something even without an occasion? Hahaha, is this a hint or something?

PS3 for Christmas

Thursday, December 16, 2010

My grandchild Keren wants a new PS3 for Christmas. Actually she already has one but unfortunately lost it last May. To surprise her, we already bought a replacement last week and had decided to give it to her on Christmas evening. I know she’ll be happy but we’ll have to warn her not to play during school days and time restrictions since it will strain her eyes.

Christmas dole outs

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Christmas is just around the corner! Parties, reunions, homecomings and other activities are scattered everywhere just like bundles of solicitations have been received by yours truly and still coming my way. As early as last month, people left and right have been asking donations for raffles and the like. Aside from cash donations, raffle prizes such as cell phones and washing machines are the most in demand items requested by our clients. Oh well, it’s Christmas anyway and time for giving.

Something for her

With friend Tess (on the left) at Bangkok's Fuji Restaurant with my God daughter Marigale

The day before we left, I was puzzled on what to give my friend who’ll be celebrating her birthday just in time we’ll meet in Bangkok. I happened to see a site which gave me the perfect idea on what to give her. I’m sure she’ll love those monogrammed terry cloth robes with her name on. The day after we arrived she picked us up at the hotel, shopped and had a sumptuous lunch at Fuji Japanese Restaurant at the Platinum Mall. She decided to open my gift and true enough; she was so happy and thankful. I was glad I found the right choice!

My consolation

Wednesday, December 26, 2007

No! It’s not that I got my first honoraria this month (Php 2,617.00 or about $62.00) as Brgy. Chairman but I have some things to be honored and thankful for. I’m tickled pink when people I meet smiles and greets me - the pedi cab drivers and street kids who would call me “Vergara, Vergara” or “Madam”. Maybe those kids remembered my names through those campaign materials posted on the streets.

Politicos give special attention to the Chairman like dinner invitations, etc. Well let me take this chance to thank them for the following Christmas gifts:

A cavan of rice from Mayor Lim, Brgy. Bureau and the Liga ng Mga Barangay (Kanino ba talaga galling?);

A box of noodles and ham from Vice Mayor Isko Moreno;

Another box of ham and wine from Chairman Philip Lacuna;

A canvass traveling portfolio from Councilor Ernie and daughter Beth Rivera;

A baton from Chairman Digna Castaneda:

A table alarm clock from Councilor Dennis Lacuna and

Another ham from Congressman Abante plus this one
