Tuesday, May 20, 2008

It was participated in by students handpicked from different branches. This time it was held at Rajah Manila across with Mayor Alfredo Lim as Hermano Mayor and the School’s Directress Preciosa Soliven as Hermana Mayor.

My granddaughter Nadine, an incoming 6th grader at Sta. Ana Branch was among the participants and was named Ms. Faith. The weather then was stormy due to typhoon Cosme and we were just awaiting info of cancellation earlier that day but luckily pushed through because there was no expected downpour that happened.

I went home empty handed
Sunday, January 13, 2008
I came home from a victory party by the team who won as Liga President. The party was exclusive for Barangay Chairmans of the 6 districts of Manila held at ClamShell2, Gen. Luna, Intramuros, Manila. I wasn't happy and was ranting when I got home because I wasn't lucky enough to get any prize when the raffle was drawn. I also didn't have a single photo taken from the affair, di ko feel talaga! Well they promised to give all of us a half cavan of rice sooner.

I asked my daughter Rhea to take this photo while his daddy was teasing me while I was ranting "hmmmp kahit isang thermos di ako naka tanggap"! my daughter and Rey answered "ano ka ba! pinamimigay lang nga natin mga thermos sa baba nung Pasko"! Basta! inis ako!

I*ve satisfied my cravings
Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Since hubby is on a diet for some no no foods because of his creatitine, tryglicerides and cholesterol a little elevated, me and the kids are kinda affected with this. We have to go for vegetables, grilled fish and chicken alone. Good thing we treated a visiting couple (Kuya Sam and Ate Grace) from Jakarta at Seaside near the Mall of Asia so we feasted for seafoods which I*ve been missing for almost 2 months.
and feasted for these too.... thanks ate!

Christmas Shopping, etc.
Tuesday, August 28, 2007

As early as the second week of this month my MIL (ma-in-law) with me started out shopping for Christmas give-aways for clients and their staffs. My college friend Macoy, the Operations and Store Manager of the Landmark Department Store together with her able personnel helps us make shopping easy and convenient. We normally shop in bulk for gift items and leave everything for wrapping, store them in big boxes for easy pick up and storage at home.
Last Saturday she called to inform me that we will go to Clark (Economic Zone selling PX goods) the next day to buy imported towels for give-aways. I'm glad she assigns me the task of suggesting and choosing the kinds of items that she readily approves while sitting down most of time waiting for me. You may ask why she still comes along? Why not totally leave the job to me? Well, it's because she wants to oversee everything, loves to shop and handle every minute details of the business including the entire life of her children down to her grand grand kids. No I'm not ranting (medyo lang, hehe) in fact I salute her for her energy and prowess though she's 77 but still strong. She's one super momma who will sacrifice everything for her 3 sons.

The skyflakes story
Done with the give-away shopping, we transferred to another store. While she was tired and waiting in the car, she told me she want something hot to take. I bought her coffee at McDonald's and mixed it for her with sugar and creme but later ask for toasted bread to dip in her coffee, eh wala naman nun sa McDo. So I got off the car to buy her some crackers. As she tasted the skyflakes crackers she said and thinking it may be imported "Oh this is good and not that salty compared to ones I've tasted, go grab 10 more packs because I'll give them to my sis, bro, to Rey and Ronnie the diabetics. Go taste it", giving me some, my tita A her cousin who was with us and even the driver. We all agreed but I can't help my big mouth with a burst of laughter and said "Nay, local lang yan gawang Cainta by M.Y. San" (Ma, it's locally made from Cainta)..... haha weird noh? But then Tita A went back to the shop but only one was left in the counter. "Oh, let's pass by another grocery to compare" hahaha she was insistent.
