I never had the slightest idea that I will ever allow any family member to take care of a dog nor to guard and protect our home much more keep them as pet. When I was in high school, I remember how I hated my mom’s spoiled toy terrier named Cherry. Yes, I think we had four - two mini breeds and two big ones. If there is one thing I don’t like about dogs is their stingy odor and the irritating sound of their barking. But things may change and happen in the course of time. Your guess is right because in the span of two years since we started from caring for two of our originals, a pug and a dachshund, we now have a total of five cute and lovable doggies we consider as part of the family.
Each of them has a special trait I just love. Our dachshund Totoy was trained by my daughter’s Nanny Aida to sleep in a special bed solely for his use. That made me think of doing the same by training our two other younger puppies to sleep in specially designed pet beds. We found him a mate!

We were so happy we found our darling Totoy a mate. You see I have been thinking about this for months since we do not want to deprive him of his sexual needs. We want him to be one normal specie just like one human being because we love him and treat him as one.The female doggie is owned by our heater installer when we had our bathroom renovated. Our pets were both first timers so we needed to hire a "shooter". The deal is that if lucky to have the female pregnant (it will take about 65 days) we requested one male and female babies to keep.

Flower Horn Fishes

Hubby and I have been on constant trips to Cartimar for pet supplies before he finally decided what kind of fish he’ll put up in our 100 gallon aquarium recently placed at the 3rd floor. Yes it’s our 4th! 2 at the 1st floor, 1 in our bedroom. I really didn’t like the idea but on second thoughts this will be a good exercise climbing up the stairs at least twice a day to feed and view our 2 additional house members (still nameless).

We are (now) Pet Lovers

Basically I hate pets because of their foul smell spreading like fire in the whole house. It was my mom who loves them. I remember she had 3 small dogs, a toy terrier named Cherrie, Beepbeep the dachshund, Bubbles the bubble eyed one and a big bred dog named Ranger. It was Cherrie who I disliked the most because she was very loyal and always seated beside my mom that no can come close to her or you*ll get a bite. Arrrgggg!
Not until 2005 which is the Year of Dog that we decided to own one with my special request to hubby for a Shar-pei, those wrinkled kinds. One time, when we were doing our mall rounds, we happened to pass by a pet shop and saw this 2 month old Pug in the glass showroom looking so cute all eyes at me like begging and saying *please adopt me*. Hubby, I and the kids all agreed to take him home right there and then. So there, we named him Popoy. A week after hubby came bringing along a puppy Dachshund we now call Totoy. And just recently, my daughter Rhea brought home two poodles one after the other in a span of two weeks for her two little girls, Choc-nut for Kisses and Chestnut for Keren.
Pets need a lot of attention and special care too. Feeding them is just not enough. We give them vitamins and bring them to the Vet when they are sick. We treat them like members of the family and brag about how much I love them that I wear uniquely designed Dog t shirts and sweatshirts with their faces printed on them.
