Busy as a Bee

Saturday, November 20, 2010

Oh my! Seems like I have neglected this beloved blog of mine. I can't believe that I haven't posted in weeks already. A lot of things came up and I got really busy. Up until now I'm still not done but hopefully my schedule will get better. I have missed a lot of things already but it's ok. What I'm doing right now is what I really like. I think I was made to do public service. Can you please bear with me a little longer? I do miss all of you and will do my blog rounds once I'm done with my political task.

Meeting the EXes

Monday, February 4, 2008

We were at this party of an Ex Barangay Chairman who had graduated serving his Barangay for the last three terms. The party was fun and all conversations boiled down on affairs of the Barangay. Special guest such as his compadre non other than the former Mayor Lito Atienza and wife Ma'am Beng, the handsome papable Councilor Joey Uy and Ali Atienza (not in photo who aspired for the Mayoralty race last year and lost to now Mayor Lim) who came in a little late were their to grace the occassion. Here are some photos taken at last nights affair.

While at the party, I happened to bump into my childhood bestfriend's EX who happens to be in town for a vacation from San Francisco and a resident of the Barangay where the party was held.
He invited me over for coffee and we went straight to Starbucks Rockwell for some talks on the separation. After a while my hubby (hehe never to be an ex) my daughter Rhea and son-in-law Job followed to meet him too. Oh well! There were a lot of EXes that night..

I'm not a politico, do I need to?

Monday, December 17, 2007

When I decided to vie for the Chairmanship seat a month before the campaign period, my only desire was to give our neighborhood a "complete face-lift" ( vanidosa's term for beautiful, joyous and peaceful place). Isn't it nice to belong to a community of closely knit and cooperative people living in a clean and harmonious place? Never did I realize that my willingness and dedication to serve would not be appreciated by a few green-eyed monsters and critics who still have grudges being defeated during the last election. There is truth in the saying that "You cannot please everybody".

In the span of not even a month that I took oath and sat as the Punong Barangay, there came a time when I thought of giving up the crown because of pressures, stress, tiresome trips to this and those offices to submit documents for a smooth transistion, council meetings, paper works and even using up my personal money "katakut-takot na abono" to make sure our Barangay copes up to all the requirements not to mention the foul comments of the chismosas around. But then hubby and daughter advised me not to quit since the barangay is just half in number of our male employees whose operational needs I head and further told me that no matter what ddecision I'll come up with, I'm still the Chairman! Sorry sila!

Sad to say, I'm missing my usual activities, my friends, vanities and beautification (bwaaaah..), posting and updating my blog entries and campaign ads, visiting my links, and doing my pending tags. I haven't even shopped for Christmas presents yet.

.

HOW WILL I TAKE THIS?

One time after my appointed Treasurer and Secretary came from the National Treasury to fix some documents with regards to our Fidelity Bond told me "Madam, may trademark ka na! One lady Chairman who was also working on their bond asked who our Chairman is and we told her si Chairman Vergara po yung pumalit kay Chairman Beltran. Sabi ba naman, ah yung magandang, suplada na maputi? Siempre protect and defend po namin kayo and told her di naman po yun suplada."

You see how people can pass judgement? Grabe! Buti nalang may consolation ako hearing the words maganda and maputi! Bwaaaaaaahhhhh......again!

Campaign Site

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Our election propagandas such as posters, stickers and tarpaulins are exclusively displayed in a giant billboard like screen standing in our land for sale located just a few houses away from our residence. I had it guarded so no candidate can use our property to show off their campaign materials. I*m sorry but I think it*s not being selfish in the real sense, just an advantage because we own the site and I*m a contender.

Getting Ready

Thursday, October 11, 2007

Campaign starts on October 19-27 and I*ve started preparing the materials. Here are a few of the paraphernalias done while the flyers are still on the printing process.

I've been trying to be visible in the neighborhood and here's a comment I heard from the sister of a male contender "Do I know you?, Why came out of your nest?"
Grrrr.... I was kinda tongue tied (natulala ako mga friends, simula palang yan!).
