A Brief Profile of Barangay 885

Among the 5 Barangays of Zone 97, District VI of the City of Manila is BARANGAY 885. It is composed of 227 families with an estimated population of 1,030. Barangay 885 is bounded on the East by Begonia Street (Brgy. 886), West by Calderon Street (Brgy. 876), North by New Panaderos Street (Brgy. 889) and South by Barangay 884.



Aside from Police Station No. 6 and St. Francis School, Barangay 885 is proud to have within our area most of the historical and heritage sites of Santa Ana such as the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Abandoned, The Taoist Temple and the miraculous well- Our Lady of the Well all of which dates back for more than a century.

This small community is mostly made up of a majority of middle class families generating most of their income from various public and private employments, small scale business enterprises, professional practices and skills.

Among the various projects offered to our constituents are declogging, beautification, clean and green, solid waste management, sports activities and fitness programs, medical, dental and optical missions, distribution of school supplies, disaster preparedness, livelihood and poverty alleviation trainings, gift-giving, feeding programs, preservation of peace and order, anti-drug campaign programs and more.

Our revenue comes from commercial and business establishments in our area plus taxes derived from real-estate properties. Barangay 885 has a total budget allocation of P 1, 056, 148.14 for the year 2011.
